Creating a culture of disability inclusion
17 Feb 2026
During 2025, our Bangladesh team started several initiatives to spark career opportunities and make the workplace more inclusive for people with disabilities.
To offer practical work experience and industry insights, we launched one- to three-month paid internships for people with disabilities. We partnered with Adamya, a local charity which specialises in training and preparing people with disabilities for the workforce, to identify and support candidates and will be welcoming our first group of interns during 2026.
As part of its broader vision for diversity and inclusion, our Bangladesh team is also focusing on building a culture of awareness around how colleagues and companies can better support people with disabilities, both in and outside the workplace. This included a session led by Adamya’s Managing Director on International Day for Persons with Disabilities for all employees to learn what an equitable work environment might look like for people with different disabilities.
These initiatives have been complemented by measures such as inclusive job advertisements and accessibility-related building upgrades, all geared towards ensuring that everyone feels safe, supported and welcomed at Intertek.
